Shrimp Show at Malibu Equestrian Park

Our famous and favorite show of the year! It's the 41st Annual Shrimp Show with fun and games and prizes for the whole family! This year we are looking for some really creative and talented kids to give us the best costume ideas they have, and we will be planning some surprises for the whole family. Stay tuned!

Horse Fair & Swap Meet at TBD - Trancas Market parking lot or Landon Center

June 5, 2011 from 8am to 5pm
Come one and all to our Horse Fair and Swap Meet! This is a longtime favorite traditional that marks the beginning of the Summer by giving the community a chance to clean out their tack rooms and their barns, and to enjoy a Play Day with food and fun and horses! Rain Date - English Hunter Equitation Show at Malibu Equestrian Park

December 19, 2010 all day
If there is a downpour on Sunday Nov. 21st, or if the footing is too wet to be safe, we will postpone the Hunter Equitation Show to this date - Dec 19th. We really hope we won't have to, and if it's just a drizzle we are all going to buck up and ride in the rain. If the little ones could do it then so can we!

What equestrian sports or activities are you involved in?
Please join the Compton JR. Posse Youth Equestrian Program (CJP) at our annual fundraiser in the Grand Ballrom of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on Saturday, May 30th at 5 pm. Since 1988 I have worked with the youth of Compton to give them alternatives to the 40 warring gangs and the rampid drug lifestyle they faced daily. CJP has given hope to many kids who might otherwise be on the streets. By teaming kids with horses, they learn responsibility , discipline, and the importance of academic and career goals. CJP is in its 3rd generation of sending kids to college, into the military and into business for themselves. Our mission this year is to establish the first inner city high school equestrian team and charter school. IEL competition will begin fall 2009 in order for CJP to become eligible for equestrian scholarships to colleges across the country. Rod Bergen and TR&R have been instrumental in the development of the Compton Jr. Posse through the years. With out you all CJP would not be what we are today. We say thanks to each and everyone of you.

Summer Classic Jumper Show Aug 2nd

All of us here at the Compton Jr. Posse want to say THANK YOU TR&R! Once again Victoria did a fabulous job of putting on the Summer Classic Jumper Show. We are blessed to be in TR&R's family of kind and thoughtful friends. We really appreciate the opportunities you continue to provide for our kids. Thanks for helping the CJP keep kids on horses and off the streets! You are the reason we are able to continue. Thank you and God Bless you. Mayisha and the Compton Jr. Posse. GO TEAM!

"Keeping Kids on Horses and Off the Streets"
Hi Anne, Emma and Abby Blackwood,
We just received the fantastic news of the amount of money You and Malibu High School IEL were able to raise at the Trancas horse show for the Compton Jr. Posse. Wow! What a great job. We are so very appreciative of your support, hard work and genius of putting on such a tremendous show.

The monies will be used to join the OIEL and any associated fees required to join. Any monies left over will be used solely to assist the students in competition beginning in October 2009 at the Oaks in San Juan Capistrano. According to the director of OIEL, to maximize the number of points each student can accumulate each year, it is recommended that each student participate in 5 classes each day (Sat & Sunday). The cost for each student to participate and to board the horse for the weekend totals more than $400 so we are really appreciative for your fundraiser.

In appreciation for your hard work, the presentation of the funds will done at our upcoming Fundraiser scheduled for Saturday May 30th at the LAEC in the Grand Ballroom, 5 pm to 11 pm. We look forward to seeing you there. Yahoo!
